Sustainable consumption – with best organic quality and delicious diversity. The Black Forest milk organic product-line includes the unique milk from certified Bioland dairy farms. They are committed to complying with the rigorous Bioland guidelines and are subject to regular external controls. Bioland dairy farms are known for promoting animal welfare and natural GMO-free feed. Traditional and considerate processing is just as self-evident for us as modern production methods and constant quality control. The fruits for the tasty Black Forest milk yogurt also originate from controlled organic farming.
And of course you can be absolutely sure that the organic milk is collected, stored and processed separately. This is our 100% guarantee: where it says organic on it, it is also organic inside.
The Black Forest milk product-line offers delicious dairy products for the whole family. Enjoy our fresh and traditional meadow milk in the glass bottle, our beloved classic yogurt “Jogi” in diverse varieties, our traditional Tresana spread or our succulent “Schoki”. We also provide a wide variety of high-quality cream and curd cheese products for your cooking and baking recipes. In our Black Forest milk product-line you will also find our special meadow milk products.
In the fresh air and at the heart of the nature parks in South and Middle/North of the Black Forest, our Black Forest cows pasture on the lush green and herb-rich meadows. From spring to autumn, our cows stay in the meadow as long as possible and for at least 150 days a year, if the weather allows. Here our grazing cows can move naturally and kind-fairly, feel good and enjoy a lot of fresh pasture grass. In winter they are fed with natural feed in the stall – mostly from the self-cropping of our farmers. Conscious of our responsibility over humans and nature, we absolutely abstain from using genetically modified feeds.
Being lactose-intolerant does not mean that you cannot enjoy the tasty Black Forest milk. With our comprehensive range of lactose-free products, you can enjoy the milk of the Black Forest dairy farmers with peace of mind. Our LAC milk is equally rich in calcium as any other milk and can be used for cooking and baking as well.

Our dairy cooperative
The dairy cooperative was founded in 1930 under the name of “Breisgau Milch”. Black Forest milk is still the company of the local dairy farmers today. More than 1,000 mostly smaller and family-run farms ensure the daily fresh quality of one of the most valuable foods we have – our milk. The milk is marketed by Black Forest milk in Freiburg and Offenburg, where it is bottled and processed into delicious milk products or milk powder.
Together they process the milk, which is unique in its provenance and taste. The Black Forest with its deep valleys and steep slopes shapes the lives of farmers and the way cattle are kept. Here the cows graze on lush fresh meadows in a picturesque landscape – a successful interaction between landscape, animal and man. The love and care of the family farms in the Black Forest hallmark the milk products of Black Forest milk Freiburg.

Our ambition as one of the leading dairies is to combine our passion for authentic products with the expertise of artisanship and innovative processes. This is why we preserve traditional recipes, such as those of our butter, develop independent ones, such as the Tresana spread, and offer genuine manufacturing quality with Black Forest cream.
Our branded products are 100% made from local producers’ milk. We process and refine the milk under rigorous quality requirements. With approved certifications such as “ohne Gentechnik” (GMO-free), “Bioland” and our high standards for milk quality, we create a transparent environment and offer a high degree of enjoyment and freshness.
Absolute freshness and hygiene guarantee the consistently high quality of Black Forest milk products. Immediately after milking, the milk is cooled down to 4° to 6° degrees Celsius. An efficient transport system ensures that the milk collection trucks bring it directly from the farm to the processing plant to start the production in the shortest possible time. Immediately after arrival, temperature, quality, protein and fat levels are checked according to the toughest criteria. In production, the milk is then refined into for example fresh milk, yoghurt, quark and sour milk products, and then further processed and bottled. The raw and finished products are constantly analysed in our laboratory – to ensure absolute food safety and quality. This guarantees that every product that leaves our production facilities meets the highest quality standards.

A wide majority of the Black Forest Milk dairy farmers live and work there where guests from all over the world spend their holidays. These mostly practice traditional pasture farming and thus ensure an incomparable landscape. The Black Forest without cows on the meadows is therefore hardly imaginable. With their work, generation after generation, the farmers have shaped the unique agricultural landscape of the Black Forest as millions of tourists experience it year after year.
